This is a specimen of a Variegated Shima Fu with 8 leaves. The tallest is 8 3/4" tall with a leaf width of a 2 (TWO) inchs (extremely broad) It has a Vase leafed style. The picture should give a good feel for coloration on this plant. The plant has been with us for 7 months.
The plant is strong with great tubidity. The color is terrific. What we have here is a dwarf, window sill sized 8 leaf plant that if grown right could bloom during its next cycle in about a year. Just a wonderffu plant.
We are unable to offer any larger dwarf plants.
We observe and treat our imported plants for at least 3 months before offering them to our customers. Chinese plants do not get watered and fertilized the same in China as in the US and it takes a long time for them to acclimate. For this reason alone you are much better off buying from us than direct.
Shima Fu are part of the family of Variegated Clivia. All variegates are effected by light. They belong on the more northern exposed side of your house or in 80% shade and no less. If your plant becomes too dark for your liking move it to a darker place and there is a really good chance it will lighten up. If you want to know more about variegation check the tab on our home page. We have endeavored to explain the major aspects of undertanding and growth of this most interesting section of Clivia.
You save a lot of shipping just buying from us. The cost of shipping from China is high and Vendors often ask for $25.00-$40.00 for a plant like this-even more! We are shipping this plant for whatever the calculated shipping is for a plant of this size from us to you, and from just North of Boston, MA. not 6800 miles away.
